It all started nearly 100 years ago when Mr. Walter Green worked for J.Gould & Co.(Leicester) Ltd -  A boys jersey manufacturer in Leicester. When Mr James Gould died, Walter Green Snr was made Manager and eventually bought the company in 1929.

In later years his two Son's William James and Walter Harry joined the company and increased the size of the business, eventually employing over 85 staff. In 1982 the two brothers went their separate ways and Walter Harry Green formed Knitcraft Ltd and started making special  products for Next PLC, Grattans, Pepe Jeans, Burtons and Top Man. The 3rd generation of Greens now work for Knitcom Ltd specialising in different areas of the  current  business.
